Your company / website vision statement / goal:
To remain the premiere provider of kosher pet products.
What you sell / services you offer (brief description of your
company):
KosherPets offers an entire line of food and hygiene products for dogs
and cats whose owners wish to keep a kosher home for philosophical
and/or health reasons.
Have you always wanted to run your own business? What were some of your
previous jobs / companies?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Previously employed in the
telecommunications industry, I have always unearthed new market
niches to position my products.
Have you got any qualifications? Please tell us about yourself
academically?
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Administration. Furthermore, I have
always kept current with new marketing concepts and sales strategies
through various classes and seminars.
How / when did the idea of your website / company come about?
Back in 2000, I had to nurse my own dog back to health. Lengthy research
in pet nutrition and health trends resulted in KosherPets.
If you could give readers of this book one piece of advice when starting
up a business, what would it be?
Just stick to it no matter what your initial detractors might say. He
who laughs last...
Who are your role models / mentors and why?
I look up to focused people who are successful and balanced in
all aspects of their lives: economically, family-wise, and spiritually.
Excluding yours, what company / website do you like / admire the most?
I like web sites which are easy to navigate, without bothersome music or
useless animation. I visit news websites (www.cnn.com;
www.spiegel.de)
on a daily basis.
What do you look for in an employee?
Someone dedicated, eager to learn, and who is not afraid to admit to
having made a mistake. Only those that do nothing never make mistake.
What kind of culture exists at your company? How did you establish this
tone and why did you institute this particular type of culture?
I foster a culture of trust and full disclosure. I need to know what is
going on in all aspects of my business and my employees trust my good
judgment and fairness, even in case of a disagreement.
Where did your funding come from and how did you go about getting it?
I invested my own money in starting and developing KosherPets. Previous
financial success in other industries afforded me to do so.
Tell us about what your business does off line.
My business in primarily conducted offline. Our website is an
informational portal for our dealers and their clients, where no actual
transaction takes place.

We have averaged 45% annual growth since our inception in 2000.
Meticulous attention to our existing dealers paired with an aggressive
