Have you always wanted to run your own business? What were some of your previous jobs / companies?

Yes I have always wanted to run my own business. I used to

work for Microsoft as a Regional Director before I started

SoftCom.

Have you got any qualifications? Please tell us about yourself academically?

I studied Chemical Engineering and Business Administration but never got my diploma for either. I was too busy working, running

the computer club and teaching Computers 101 to the students.

How / when did the idea of your website / company come about?

The idea about creating an Internet company with my friends from the college and the university was present in 1991. Before we created this company, we started mail2web.com in 1995. At the time I was working for a multinational company whose firewall did not let employees access their personal email accounts via their corporate workstations. That’s when I decided to crate a gateway system which would act like a client and server at the same time which would let the user access their emails even though they are behind a corporate firewall. And then I created mail2web.com for that purpose.
