Your name: Arthur Hamamchian, Owner
Company name: The World of Bronzes
Website URL:

Your company / website vision statement / goal:
To be the #1 online retailer of Bronze sculptures in the
United States.
What you sell / services you offer (brief description of your company):
We are a company that specializes in the sells of bronze reproduction of
beautiful pieces of sculptures.
We are one the few companies in the
United States that reproduces statues
from the original sculpture. We certify that all our statues are an
authentic reproduction of the original work of art. We further certify
that all our sculptures are cast in the lost wax process of casting and
all final hand detailing is completed by skilled artists.
Our craftsmen use the LOST WAX METHOD to recreate the most beautiful
pieces of sculptures in the world. This method of sculpting retains all
the details from the original statue.
Our statues are 100% solid Bronze!
Our customers like the fact that we do not machine reproduce these
sculptures as some other companies do. These statues are handmade with
artistic care.
All our statues come with a mounted Italian marble base. They also come
with an 18K gold plated plaque with the name of the artist and the name
of the piece engraved.
Have you always wanted to run your own business? What were some of your
previous jobs / companies?
Yes, since I was a young boy. I remember playing games with my friends
where I was the owner of a store and they would come and buy items from
me. I even had hours set up for my fake store.
Some of my previous jobs have been a painter in my father’s business. I
have worked in the health care field and also in retail.
Have you got any qualifications? Please tell us about yourself
academically?
In all the fields, which I have worked in, customer service has been
very important. I have learned in sells, the health care field and in
my father’s business that the customer comes first no matter what.
While attending The University of California at
Irvine, I worked as a sells
person in a watch company. This is where I learned everything I know
about business. Once I finished school, I realized that what I had
studied (Biophysics) is not my passion in life therefore I decided to
start a business.
How / when did the idea of your website / company come about?
I started selling items on eBay just to learn about the Internet
market. I realized that there is a huge demand for what I’m selling. I
knew then that I was limiting myself by just selling on an auction site.
I decided that it’s time to take the next step, which was to start my
own web site.
If you could give readers of this book one piece of advice when starting
up a business, what would it be?
Be patient. It is very rare to become successful overnight. It takes a
lot of work. It is not a
9 to 5 job. It is a 24 hours a day commitment. My wife still complains
about me being in front of “that box all the time,” meaning the
computer. The journey is long and full of obstacles but very fulfilling.
